Set during the era when Korea was under Japanese occupation.
Shin-Deuk is the daughter of a poor noble family. She married Jong-Suk at a young age. Her in-laws, who are pro-Japanese, are rich. Her marriage life doesn't go well. Jong-Suk does not like his wife at all. In order to make Jong-Suk like her, Shin-Deuk decides to attend school. There, she falls in love with Woo-Jin. He is a teacher at the school. Shin-Deuk is in love for the first time in her life, but she has a rival. Her rival is her servant Young Yi.
